JUSTIN EILERS : R.I.P.

Mixed martial arts fighter Justin Eilers was shot and killed Christmas night.

And, he was murdered by someone he knew!

Eilers' death came at the hands of his mother's boyfriend.

Eilers had gathered with relatives for the holidays, but tensions escalated with an ex-girlfriend, also in attendance. Eilers was asked to leave the residence, but was said to have refused and began throwing dishes and other objects in protest. The home's owner was then said to have pulled a gun on Eilers and shot him in the chest after a brief verbal confrontation.

Eilers' ex-girlfriend, mother, and young son were said to have been in the room at the time of the shooting.

Just two weeks ago, another fighter, UFC's Justin Leven shot and killed his wife and then committed suicide.

All so horrible.

DIDDY NEW YEAR EVE TAKEOVER ???

Hip-hop mogul Diddy and Ciroc Vodka have recently opened up their checkbooks and made the City of New York an unprecedented offer: $1 million to a charity on behalf of the city in exchange for a New Year’s Eve ball takeover.

Both the vodka brand and Diddy have secured an enormous presence in Times Square this holiday season via impressive billboards, but in true Diddy fashion, the plan doesn’t stop there.

They hope to change the historic crystal ball to reflect its iconic blue sphere. The color of the sphere originates from a unique plant that grows in the Galliac region of France, where Ciroc is still produced, and serves as a symbol of prosperity for the area even today.

“As the ‘Official Vodka of New Year’s Eve,’ it’s only fitting that we take over New York, the most iconic New Year’s city in the world,” said Combs, who oversees the marketing of Ciroc’s brand. “I’m going to give every adult in America a taste of what it’s like to enjoy a sophisticated celebration with Diddy, and what better time than while ringing in the New Year.”

There’s no word if New York has entertained the offer at press time.

BRAD PITT: MAN SHOT AT THE MOVIE THEATRE!!!!

We guess some people take going to the movies very seriously.

On Christmas day, crazy ass James Joseph Cialella Jr. of South Philadelphia went to watch a showing of Brad Pitt's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

During the movie a father and his son kept talking, which angered Cialella, understandably so. It angered him so much, though, that he decided to take out a .380-caliber gun and shoot the father!!!

WTF?????

Police were called to the movie theatre at 9:30pm on Christmas night. The victim told authorities that a man sitting next to him and his family told them to be quiet and even threw popcorn at his son. And after a heated exchange between the two men, Cialella allegedly got out of his seat to confront the family.

The victim then stood up to protect his son and that's when he got shot once in the arm. Moviegoers quickly ran out of the theatre but Cialella sat down to watch the rest of the movie.

Police arrived a short time later, arrested the 29 year-old Cialella and took his gun. Cialella is being charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and weapons violations.

Police spokesman Lt. Frank Vanore said, "It's truly frightening when you see something like this evolve into such violence."

Was it worth it???? We sure hope he enjoyed the movie!

Thankfully, no one was critically hurt.

We figured she'd have to be a bit messed up to date K-Fed. And we were right!!!

Turns out Prince has had some troubles with the law.

Back in high school she allegedly "waged a terror campaign against three kids at her high school." The parents of the kids even had to file a temporary restraining order against her. However, the shitty judge rejected it and told the school to handle it.
She was also once charged with possession of a dangerous weapon on school premises. Turns out the crazy bitch had a STUN GUN on her! Supposedly for "protection" right?

And she was also charged with possession of alcohol by a minor.

Oh, and just last year she was arrested for "assault and disturbing the peace." She pled not guilty and the case was eventually dismissed.

There's only two things we can think of.

One, let's hope she and K-Fed never reproduce cause those will be some crazy ass kids.

OBAMA EMBRACES SCIENCE !!!!!!!

In coming months, public attention will heavily focus on the performance of Barack Obama’s economic and national security teams, but over the long haul, his new team in science and technology could do even more to shape the country’s future. They will arrive not a moment too soon.

Over the past seven plus years, many leaders in the science and technology community feel they have been in a virtual war with the Bush administration. They despaired, as one told me this weekend, that “no one was ever home” and that the Bush team was so dismissive of key scientific research that it threatened our future.

In a brief capsule, here are some of their key complaints:.

The President and the men around him have been so ideologically opposed to the idea of man-made global warming that they first put their heads in the sand, refusing to accept evidence and editing reports from scientists inside the government such as the EPA, sending morale down the tubes. More recently, President Bush has acknowledged that man has contributed to warming, but the U.S. continues to drag its feet in international negotiations and Bush has resisted mandatory emission standards.
Top scientific leaders in the administration have sometimes been silenced, including a top NASA climate scientist James Hansen and former Surgeon General Richard Carmona. A number of government scientists have resigned.
The President twice vetoed bills for stem cell research over the objections of many in the scientific community as well as Bill Frist, the cardio-surgeon who was a GOP leader in the Senate.
The President allowed funding for the National Science Foundation to go essentially flat and after sizable increases, also allowed a flattening of the budget for the National Institutes of Health.
The President did sign onto the competitiveness agenda proposed by a special commission of the national academies of science and engineering – and he helped to secure Congressional passage of legislation endorsing the agenda. But, stunningly, the Congress refused to fund it – and the President put up very little fight.
This November, the president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science publicly lambasted the administration for putting unqualified political appointees into permanent civil service jobs that make scientific policy decisions. A case in point: Todd Harding, a 30-year old with a bachelor’s degree from Kentucky’s Centre College, was named to a permanent post at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration working on space-spaced science for geostationary and meteorological data.
Even as some positions were filled with non-entities, the White House left vacant the post of Executive Director for the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.
Against this backdrop, it is not surprising that the scientific community began rallying to Barack Obama months ago. Periodically, Dr. Harold Varmus, now chief of Memorial Sloan Kettering, convened informal conference calls among leading scientists to provide counsel to the Obama campaign, and they also met with Obama for a morning of conversation in Pennsylvania.

This past Saturday, Obama began filling out his appointments to his science and technology team, and it is a star-studded cast, promising a sharp break with the Bush administration. Among those who will be surrounding him are a physicist who has won a Nobel Prize (Steven Chu), a physicist and top expert on global warming who will be his top science adviser in the White House (John Holdren), a chemical engineer who has won acclaim for as an environmental leader in New Jersey (Lisa Jackson), a marine biologist is a leading expert on the impact of global warming on the oceans (Jane Lubchenco),. a polymath who heads up one of the most important genome projects in the country (Eric Lander), and a biologist who won a Nobel prize in medicine (Varmus). It doesn’t get any better than that!

For at least half a century, America has been the world’s premier nation for scientific and technological research. Remaining at the cutting edge is not only important for the advancement of knowledge, but it is also critical – absolutely critical — for the creation of high-powered jobs and meeting the challenges of global warming. In his Internet address on Saturday, Obama said, “It’s time we once again put science at the top of our agenda and worked to restore America’s place as the world leader in science and technology.” He’s right – it is none too soon to call off the war and build a strong, new alliance between government and science. .

DJ Premier recently revealed to New York radio personality Peter Rosenberg that he made a track for 50 Cent that was turned down. XXLmag.com chopped it up with the beat making legend to get the inside scoop on what happened with the song and how it would have been the perfect vehicle for Fif to push the reset button on his career.

Apparently Preemo submitted the song for 50’s upcoming album Before I Self Destruct. And as he tells it, this would have been the G-Unit leader’s perfect re-introduction to hip-hop audiences as a hardcore rapper.

“I use[d] his voice from “Guess Who’s Back” – ‘You’re now rocking with 50 Cent. Are you ready? I said are you ready,’ he described to XXL. “You know how he says that, with that like cocky attitude? I used that and scratching in the beginning with like this real mellow beat and the drums are smacking. It’s like setting it up like ‘Yo I’m back on my grizzly shit. I’m about to come rough.’”

Premier, who has worked with most of New York’s most influential artists, including The Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z and Nas, said the track wasn’t one of his greatest but it would have worked in 50’s favor. “It’s not like the illest beat I ever done but the fact that he wants to bring it back to the pure essence, I definitely know how to make sure that we’re on the right track for a street record. “

While he says that Curtis would have sounded amazing over the beat, he’s not upset that the song was turned down. “Bringing that old voice back is almost like if he hit the reset button. So I could totally hear 50 killing that song…I’m not mad though. Fif’s my dude.”

Even though you won’t be hearing the track on 50’s new album, Preemo said the beat didn’t end up on the cutting room floor. He gave it to the NYGz, who are signed to his Year Round imprint, for a song called “Ready?”

Last night at New York City’s 92 Street Y, Hot 97 radio personality Peter Rosenberg sat down with legendary producer DJ Premier for what was said to be the first installment of his Noisemakers series of one-on-one interviews with some of the biggest names in hip-hop. During the discussion Primo spoke about many of his infamous collaborations, and those that were never able to materialize.

When asked what rappers he’d like to have worked with that haven’t yet manifested, Premier said “Definitely Busta,” before adding, “50 too. I gave 50 a bangin’ beat, [but] he turned it down. It was dope, though.”

The rap vet didn’t dwell on that as he explained what it was like to work with The Nototious B.I.G. “Biggie called me in a frantic panic on the phone and was like, Yo, I got one more song I need for my album and I’m done; I gotta get a song from you.” That conversation soon turned into “Unbelievable,” off of Big’s debut, Ready to Die, which Primo “thought was a little too nice for the way his voice sounded,” but Big Poppa “just walked in the booth and laid it—no paper, no nothin’.”

When the possibility of a full-length album was brought up, he acknowledged that the wheels are in motion, but it may be difficult to get everyone he wants on the release. “I talked about starting it a couple weeks ago, because a lot of artists [want to help]—like Kanye, [after] I scratched on his album, he was like, ‘Yo, I’ll give you one for free whenever you need me.’ And I know that the bigger people get, it’s harder to get ‘em. Even Jay-Z is hard to get now, and we were around each other for years, but it’s hard to even get at him. I’m just trying to swap with everybody.”

The perfectionist that he is, Primo knows the situation needs to be right. “It’s gotta be like my Chronic,” he continued. “Just like the way Dre came out with Chronic and just shitted on everybody, mine’s gotta be the same way.”

Whether or not a DJ Premier album is in the immediate future, more music is certainly on the way. “I’m back to almost a beat every two days,” he assured. “The money’s always secondary. New York rapper 50 Cent may find himself involved in yet another high profile beef. The mogul, who's known to pick--and end numerous fights, recently found himself in the crosshairs of fellow Hip Hop power player Lil Wayne.
Though Wayne has never responded to any of Fif's jabs in the past, a recent leaked tracked entitled "Lousianimal," finds the "A Milli" hitmaker taking what many believe are numerous shots at 50 Cent.

After months of diss videos from former Byrd Gang affiliate Max B, Jim Jones has revealed details regarding their contractual business relationship.

In a recent interview with radio personality Funkmaster Flex, the Harlem, New York-bred rapper debunked rumors claiming Max no longer has ties with him.

"He's signed to my label and I bought his publishing for roughly $90,000 which he cried over the phone to get out of jail for," Jones explained. "He sold his soul, the stupidest move I've ever heard anybody make in their entire life."

Admitting he's remained silent about the situation because there's no financial gain, Jones further compared Max's previous loyalty to other rappers who have been removed from popular rap groups.

"You know how Smurf tried to do to 50 [Cent] and then all of a sudden Smurf was gone," Jones compared. "What about J-Hood to The Lox --like these are the things I want to know."

The Byrd Gang leader also took a moment to clear rumors of Damon Dash being broke due to recent financial reports claiming he owes millions.

It looks like the era of Soulja Boy has come to an end. Soulja Boy's new album "iSouljaBoyTellEm" is estimated to only sell around 35,000 copies in it's first week. The Crank Dat rapper's first album "SouljaBoyTellEm.com" sold nearly 3.5x the amount, racking in around 117,262 in it's first week. Soulja Boy tried to replicate the success of his single "Crank Dat" by creating another dance track called "Balk" but the single hasn't got much radio play or views online comparatively. Topping Soulja Boy will be Plies with his new album "Da Realist" as it's set to sell more than 90,000 copies in it's first week.

Smith has been ordered to stay away from Drunkst, as well as her personal assistant, her home, and any place she may work.

Neither Drunst nor Smith attended the hearing.

What type of stalker is that?

Typically stalkers are the first ones in the courtroom with the hopes of catching a glimpse at their target of obsession.

Rapper 50 Cent and his child's mother Shaniqua Tompkins have been fighting a bitter legal battle for almost a year we have EXCLUSIVELY learned that the battle may be close to being over.

A key insider spoke to us on the condition of anonymity. And according to that person, 50 and Shaniqua have agreed in principal to a joint custody arrangement over their son.

And there's more. Our insider claims that 50, in the interest of peace, is willing to "substantially" raise the amount of child support that Shaniqua is receiving. The insider told us that under the new deal, Shaniqua would receive "more than twice" the $6,700 she was awarded by courts earlier this year.

If you build it... they will cast? That could turn out to be the motto of Filipino net sensation (and frockwriter buddy) Bryanboy, as he caps what in his own words has been a “surreal” 2008. Last week he made WWD’s 'Year In Fashion' supplement, as one of the ‘fashion moments’ of 2008. Overnight, he's been dubbed one of the Top 25 Faces of 2008 by high-profile model industry blog Confessions of a Casting Director, alongside some of the hottest new model names, including Australia's Abbey Lee Kershaw. Oh and Carla Bruni.

Bryanboy has been blogging for four years and was already on the media ascendant prior to 2008, not to mention the radar of the luxury industry – after model poses in a series of Fendi ads in 2006 bore a striking resemblance to his trademark Infamous Bryanboy Pose.

However his star rose in 2008 thanks to Marc Jacobs.

Bryanboy created an amusing video homage to Jacobs, following a spate of late 2007 media attacks on the designer over the tardiness of his fashion shows.

In appreciation, Jacobs thanked Bryanboy via email – and then in February this year, was photographed backstage at one of his Fall/Winter 08/09 shows in New York holding up an “I love Bryanboy” poster.

Then an email from Jacobs to Bryanboy, promising to call an ostrich skin handbag from the main collection after the blogger, was leaked via a Bryanboy friend and found itself all over the net.

After months of speculation, Jacobs made good on the promise, sending Bryanboy the actual handbag prototype from the show.

Confirmation that Jacobs had named the bag after Bryanboy resulted in a veritable avalanche of publicity.

Bryanboy made his first international Fashion Week foray at Australian Fashion Week - contrary to reports at the time, flying himself down (although, along with other international VIPs, he was put up at The Westin by organisers).

And while some of the event’s other international VIPs, notably reps from The Financial Times and Nylon, have complained about being accorded bad seats at AFW shows, Bryanboy found himself front row at almost every show.

Next off the bat was Hong Kong Luxury Week, followed by New Zealand and KL Fashion Weeks, all apparently attended as an invited media guest.

After all this planning I am finally here in Aussie Land!!! I hope you're not jealous when you see the view from my hotel room! I couldn't believe my eyes, it looks over the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Although instead of enjoying my view, I slept the whole day away and now I'm so awake I can't even think of going to sleep. So my mom and I decided to take a walk to the Opera House but once there an electric storm decided to welcome us. Lets just say we are not the sort who enjoy the thought of getting struck by lightning, so we ran like the tourist that we are!!! On to other things. What do you suppose happens to me apon my arival? Only that someone should recognize me at my hotel!!! I still find it extreemly odd for people to know who I am when I'm out and about!! Especially with out makeup and hair camera ready. On Saturday December 27, Atlanta’s three biggest Hip-Hop artists; T.I., Ludacris, and Young Jeezy will deliver their first ever joint concert for Long Island’s Holiday Bash ’08.

The all-star show was the brainchild of Ludacris, who in a November interview with MTV expressed his desire to go on tour with other elite emcees from his hometown.

“I haven’t confirmed anything yet. It’s little talks here and there,” Ludacris cryptically stated. “But I’ll put it out there: I would love to do a tour where it’s me, T.I. and Jeezy. Me, Tip, and Jeezy would be outrageous. But nothing is confirmed yet.”

Based on how well the one-time concert does, an official nationwide tour could be announced shortly.


All three artists have released high-profile albums this year: T.I.’s Paper Trail (1X Platinum), Young Jeezy’s The Recession (Gold), and Ludacris’ Theater of the Mind.

The show will also boast additional performances from R&B newcomer Kristy Scott, and New York’s own Nina Sky and Jim Jones.

Hot 97’s Angie Martinez and DJ Enuff will host the evening, with Cipha Sounds handling DJ duties.

Before the show, fans will be treated to an exclusive meet and greet with the artists.

Wearing CK Calvin Klein collection, jeans, lingerie and eyewear, the models – who included Australians Stephanie Carta and Tallulah Morton - were positioned in and around three quite spectacular ‘lightscapes’, created by Australian Aboriginal artist Jonathan Jones.

I feel we might have. I hadn’t seen her before we flew her in and there was this little video [made by her agency, Clyne Models] and she was literally walking in a backyard. It was so cool. To see like a runway showreel. She’s only been modelling a month, this was kind of like her second job. Because I liked the reel and I thought also, you get fresh, beautiful, just really... lots of energy too she has, which is really nice. It’s also about personality, especially with jeans, it’s denim”.

Reebok has done it again. This time they have linked up with on-the-rise alternative Hip-Hop duo, Kidz in the Hall, (you may be familiar with their hit single Love Hangover featuring Estelle). Reebok will display two new colorways of their SK7000 model as part of the upcoming Classic Re-Mix collection. The much anticipated sneakers are scheduled for a March 2009 Footlocker release and will run retail for $70 USD. They will also include a special re-mixed track made just for the program. So far only two colorways have been confirmed but look out for further models from the Reebok Re-Mix collection being covered in the months to follow.

OPRAH IS MOVING TO HBO !!!!!!

Oprah is saying sayonara to ABC and moving to cable television for a three year deal to produce movies, documentaries, and television series.

Seeking a much more eclectic outlet, Queen O's Harpo Films is moving over to the commercial-free, anything-goes zone of HBO.

"Oprah Winfrey Presents" has proved successful, aiming for films "positive or inspirational in tone." 2005's adaptation of Their Eyes Were Watching God starring Halle Berry drew one of the biggest TV movie audiences ever.

ABC wanted to extend its deal with Oprah, but the Queen O "believed HBO was a better fit."

HBO doesn't usually make deals like this, but this is the Queen of the Universe we are talking about here. Network co-president Richard Plepler said that "Oprah personifies excellence and quality in everything she does" because if he hadn't, fire would have rained down on him.

Whether or not the Queen will be gracing any of these projects with her thespian presence is yet unknown.

A serial killer who died more than a decade ago is the person who decapitated the 6-year-old son of "America's Most Wanted" host John Walsh in 1981, police in Florida said Tuesday. The announcement brought to a close a case that has vexed the Walsh family for more than two decades, launched the television show about the nation's most notorious criminals and inspired changes in how authorities search for missing children.
"Who could take a 6-year-old and murder and decapitate him? Who?" an emotional John Walsh said at Tuesday's news conference. "We needed to know. We needed to know. And today we know. The not knowing has been a torture, but that journey's over."
Walsh's wife, Reve, at one point placed a small photo of their son on the podium.
Police named Ottis Toole, saying he was long the prime suspect in the case and that they had conclusively linked him to the killing. They declined to be specific about their evidence and did not note any DNA proof of the crime, but said an extensive review of the case file pointed only to Toole, as John Walsh long contended.
"Our agency has devoted an inordinate amount of time seeking leads to other potential perpetrators rather than emphasizing Ottis Toole as our primary suspect," said Hollywood Police Chief Chadwick Wagner, who launched a fresh review of the case after taking over the department last year. "Ottis Toole has continued to be our only real suspect."
Toole had twice confessed to killing the child, but later recanted. He claimed responsibility for hundreds of murders, but police determined most of the confessions were lies. Toole's niece told the boy's father, John Walsh, her uncle confessed on his deathbed in prison that he killed Adam.
Wagner acknowledged numerous missteps in the investigation and apologized to the Walshes.
"I have no doubt," John Walsh said. "I've never had any doubt."
Many names have been mentioned in connection to the case in the years since the killing, including serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, but Toole's has persistently nagged detectives. John Walsh has long said he believed the drifter was responsible, saying investigators found at Toole's home in Jacksonville a pair of green shorts and a sandal similar to what Adam was wearing.
Toole died in prison of cirrhosis in 1996 at the age of 49. He was serving five life sentences for murders unrelated to Adam's death.
The Walshes, who appeared Tuesday flanked by their other children, long ago derided the investigation as botched. Still, John Walsh praised the Hollywood police department for closing the case.
"This is not to look back and point fingers, but it is to let it rest," he said.
Adam Walsh went missing from a Hollywood mall on July 27, 1981. Fishermen discovered his severed head in a canal 120 miles away two weeks later. The rest of his body was never found.
Authorities made a series of crucial errors, losing the bloodstained carpeting in Toole's car — preventing DNA testing — and the car itself. It was a week after the boy's disappearance before the FBI got involved.
"So many mistakes were made," John Walsh said in 1997, upon the release of his book "Tears of Rage," which harshly criticized the Hollywood Police Department's work on the case. "It was shocking, inexcusable and heartbreaking."
For all that went wrong in the probe, the case contributed to massive advances in police searches for missing youngsters and a notable shift in the view parents and children hold of the world.
Adam's death, and his father's activism on his behalf, helped put faces on milk cartons, shopping bags and mailbox flyers, started fingerprinting programs and increased security at schools and stores. It spurred the creation of missing persons units at every large police department.
"In 1981, when a child disappeared, you couldn't enter information about a child into the FBI database. You could enter information about stolen cars, stolen guns but not stolen children," said Ernie Allen, president of the Center for Missing and Exploited Children, co-founded by John Walsh. "Those things have all changed."
The case also prompted national legislation to create a national database and toll-free line devoted to missing children, and led to the start of "America's Most Wanted," which brought those cases into millions of homes.
What it also did, said Mount Holyoke College sociologist and criminologist Richard Moran, is make children and adults alike exponentially more afraid.
"He ended up really producing a generation of cautious and afraid kids who view all adults and strangers as a threat to them and it made parents extremely paranoid about the safety of their children," Moran said.

A.J. BURNETT SIGNS FOR 82.5 MILLION WITH THE NEW YORK YANKEES!!!!!

Free agent right-hander A.J. Burnett has reached preliminary agreement on a five-year, $82.5 million contract with the New York Yankees.

Burnett's agreement was confirmed by the office of his agent, Darek Braunecker, The Associated Press reported.

While Yankees general manager Brian Cashman and Braunecker are still negotiating final contract terms, the deal is expected to be complete once Burnett passes a physical.

Burnett, who turns 32 in January, will join CC Sabathia at the top of a revamped starting rotation in New York. The Yankees agreed to terms on a seven-year, $161 million contract with Sabathia earlier this week.

"I can sense the excitement and the confidence that's spreading around the entire organization about what we're getting done and what we may get done still," Yankees co-chairman Hank Steinbrenner told The Associated Press Friday before Burnett's decision became known. "A rising tide lifts all boats, and the confidence and the excitement right now among the team and the organization is contagious."The Yankees made a late charge to beat out the Atlanta Braves for Burnett, who went 18-10 with a 4.07 ERA in 35 starts with Toronto this season. Burnett won 10 of his last 12 decisions. He set career highs in wins, strikeouts (231) and innings (221 1/3).
New York is still looking for one more starter, and Cashman left the winter meetings in Las Vegas this week to meet with longtime Yankee Andy Pettitte.

In December 2005, Braunecker and his agency, Frontline Athlete Management, negotiated a five-year, $55 million deal for Burnett that included an opt-out clause after three seasons. It was the first opt-out provision ever in a pitcher's contract.

Between the money that Burnett earned in Toronto and the guaranteed $82.5 million that he's scheduled to receive from the Yankees, his contracts will amount to $113.5 million over eight seasons. The addition of Sabathia and Burnett as free agents -- combined with Chien-Ming Wang's expected return to full health from a foot injury -- gives New York a top of the rotation that can stack up with Josh Beckett, Jon Lester and Daisuke Matsuzaka in Boston.

Burnett and Sabathia combined to go 35-20 with a 3.34 ERA this season. Yankees starters, in contrast, posted a 59-53 record with a 4.58 ERA. That includes the first 20-win season by Mike Mussina, who recently retired.

Although Burnett's numbers haven't always matched his talent, some scouts and front-office people think he made significant strides this season as the No. 2 starter in Toronto behind Roy Halladay.

Burnett also has a strong track record within the American League East. He's 20-5 with a 3.29 ERA against New York's divisional opponents in Tampa Bay, Boston, Baltimore and Toronto.

BRYAN NICHOLS GET FOUR LIFE SENTENCES FOR SHOOT OUT IN ATLANTA COURT HOUSE !!!!!

A Georgia judge threw the book at Brian Nichols on Saturday, giving him four consecutive sentences of life without parole for a 2005 shooting rampage that started in an Atlanta courthouse.



"I'm giving you the maximum -- every day I could give you. If I could give you more, I would," Superior Court Judge James Bodiford told Nichols.

Nichols, 37, was convicted last month of 54 counts for a deadly shooting rampage that began March 11, 2005, in the same courthouse where he stood trial.

Nichols, who was being tried for rape, shot three people to death as he escaped from the downtown courthouse that day and a federal agent the next day in Atlanta's Buckhead district before being captured in neighboring Gwinnett County.

"I know that the things that I've done caused a lot of pain, and I am sorry," Nichols, who remained seated, told the court before sentence was pronounced. "And I just wanted to say that I will not bring dishonor to the decision to spare my life."

Nichols was spared a death sentence Friday after the jury deliberating his fate announced that it could not agree on a sentence.

Bodiford gave Nichols the maximum sentence on all the non-murder charges, and ordered them to be served consecutively.

Those terms ranged from five years for escape to life for armed robbery. Other charges included aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, robbery by force, theft by taking, hijacking a motor vehicle and false imprisonment.

"It's a large number of years. It's many lifetimes," Bodiford said.

Bodiford ordered that Nichols serve his time in the Georgia state penal system, forgoing the possibility of sending him to the federal maximum-security prison in Colorado.

Bodiford implored Nichols' family and attorneys never to trust Nichols again.

"There's ample evidence that trusting him will get you killed," he said in concluding the sentencing hearing.

Jurors told Bodiford on Friday night that they were deadlocked, with nine in favor of death and three in favor of life without parole.

Under Georgia law, the jurors must reach a unanimous decision in order to impose a death sentence. In the absence of a unanimous jury verdict, the decision fell in the hands of Bodiford.

Defense lawyers said Nichols, who confessed to the killings, suffers from a mental disorder.

The jurors unanimously found the necessary aggravating circumstances in the four murders, but they were split over the death penalty.

After nine weeks of testimony, the jury found Nichols guilty of 54 counts, which included the four murders plus numerous aggravated assaults, carjackings and kidnappings.

The shootings began in the Fulton County Courthouse, where Nichols was set to stand trial for rape. He overpowered a sheriff's deputy and took her gun before proceeding to the courtroom of Judge Rowland Barnes, killing him and court reporter Julie Ann Brandau.

Sgt. Hoyt Teasley chased Nichols to outside the courthouse, where Nichols fatally shot him.

Nichols killed off-duty U.S. Customs Agent David Wilhelm as he worked on a house in Buckhead the next day. He was captured later that day after a standoff with police in the apartment of a woman he had taken hostage in Gwinnett County.

The case drew nationwide attention, in part because of the cost of Nichols' representation: about $2 million at last accounting.

Nichols had attempted to plead guilty in exchange for a life sentence, but the Fulton County District Attorney's Office would not take the death penalty off the table.

A personal rep for Hudson referred to reports of Jennifer returning to work as "speculation," adding, "The video shoot was never confirmed, so there was nothing to cancel."

Australia's Josh Goot is back again on-schedule for the second consecutive season at 12.15pm on Tuesday 24th February. One of the more interesting additions to join Goot and London's regular ready-to-wear retinue will be the international runway debut of Twenty8Twelve: the hybrid label from style-savvy British actor Sienna Miller and her fashion designer sister Savannah.

Suicide:



Backstory: Due to peer pressure and not wanting to experience any repercussions/blackballing (in his career) for not participating. He attended a very secretive downlow function.



He always seemed uncomfortable and he got even more uncomfortable when a mogul tried to vie for his attention over another powerful man, both men were seriously crushing on him. So much so, that they got into a loud argument over him that turned violent and had to be broken up by several party guests.



He reluctantly hooked up with the powerful man, he never knew that this homosexual encounter was being taped, the man he was servicing, didn't have a clue either. Conclusion, it had to be one of the party guests who set the tape up.



This is the alleged motive for the suicide:



He was devastated when he was informed about the sex tape but oddly, the person who had it, didn't want money, their motive was: I want to destroy you! Why? Nobody knows. A former beef? Someone who was jealous and envious of his success? People are still speculating discreetly.



After the suicide, some people noticeably started distancing themselves from the situation. Allegedly, even more noticeable to family members. Certain people, who were thought to be good friends of the victim, stopped returning calls and an wall of silence went up despite a public united front.



Also, after the victim was buried, the owner of the tape, allegedly, never contacted the powerful man in the tape which means, our suicide victim was the target. If this tape should resurface, our powerful man has enough money to bury it or destroy it with the help of a fixer.

Tavi, you're toast. Meet Sonny, a fashion-obsessed 11 year-old whose acquaintance I made at the Murray White Room's Sally Ross vernissage in Melbourne two weeks ago. The son of artist David Thomas and Nurin Veis, Sonny might not have a fashion blog, like 12 year-old American Tavi Gevinson - about whom frockwriter blogged on more than one occasion. What Sonny does have however is his own fledgling fashion label and he is also a keen illustrator of womens' shoes (pictured below), both of which activities are conducted under the professional moniker, "Orson Ali". Considering that another Melbourne native kicked his label off at the age of 15 - Martin Grant - could there be something in the water of the Yarra River?
Sonny's ears pricked up the nanosecond he heard of a Louis Vuitton store opening that was taking place on the very same evening, just across the road in Collins Street.

With permission from Sonny's parents, two family friends and I took him for a little LV looksee.

During our tour of the newly-revamped Collins Street flagship, Sonny ogled the LV merch, ID'd the shoes worn by several female attendees ("She's wearing the shoes that Scarlett Johansson wore" he noted, with a very serious expression, as one LV-ite waved us through) and souvenired some LV logo serviettes.



"I'll never use them" he noted wistfully whilst holding up one of the latter, back at the gallery afterwards.

How long have you been interested in fashion?
Sonny: For about four years. And...yeah.

What kind of clothes do you make?
I've made headdresses and I've tried making dresses and I've tried making tops. But I think I'm a bit better at drawing.

I do.

I like high shoes. And I like brogues. But I want to be a designer, not just shoes.



Someone mentioned that you did a class, is that right?
I did a sewing class. And I did a drawing/designing class.

Are there many kids your age who are as interested in fashion?
No.

No. I get called gay a lot but I don't care.

Um, oh it's more classic. I like classic stuff.



So apart from McQueen, who else do you like?
I like Balenciaga and I like, who else do I like? Vivienne Westwood, I love that.

What sort of shoes do you like?
I like...he does the drawings...

Yes.

OK - well he does a great shoe.

I like Prada handbags.

No. I make a lot of mine.

I asked Mum to get it for me from London.

What are your thoughts on fast fashion, Zara, Target and co. All those companies that are making cheap versions of designer clothing. It's a big issue in fashion at the moment.
Yes...I think that I would rather buy the original because Target, like, falls to pieces.

But designers are doing collaborations with fast fashion retailers. Alexander McQueen is now doing one with Target.
Yeah and Stella McCartney's done it.

Some critics complain that it dilutes the brand or cheapens the image of a brand.
It does. They look a lot sleeker and a lot better when it's the real thing.



Ever been to a fashion show?
I went to one with the L'Oreal [Melbourne Fashion Festival] thing and it had TL Wood and Maticevski and Martin Grant and Easton Pearson.

Martin Grant was 15 when he started his label. When are you planning to launch your label?
As soon as possible.

What do you think about Australian designers? How do you think they perform on the international stage?
There's some good ones. But of course the international brands are a lot more original and nice.

But Martin Grant is Australian.
He's very good. I love him. A lot.

If you were in charge of Australian fashion, what would you do?
I would make it more classic. I don't like too short skirts.

So you're not a fan of the mini?
No. I'm a fan of a... less short mini, but I don't like the really short ones.

And what do you think about the resurgence of the jumpsuit?
I love the Alexander McQueen one. That looks very Fifties... And I know Stella McCartney's done some.

I love Marc Jacobs.

The all-star, 2008 TV adaptation of Lorraine Hansberry’s classic A Raisin in the Sun was nominated today (December 11) by the Golden Globes for Best Motion Picture.

The movie gained early buzz through positive reviews of its debut at the Sundance Film Festival.

The momentum attracted ABC, who aired the movie to an audience of over 12 million viewers during its first week run this past February.
Directed by Kenny Leon, the adaption featured a diverse cast of young and veteran stars such as Phylicia Rashad, Sanaa Lathan, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Audra McDonald, Sean Patrick Thomas and Sanaa Lathan.

Rashad’s memorable performance as Lena earned her an Emmy nod for Outstanding Lead Actress.

The film also received an Emmy nomination for Best Motion Picture.

Sean “Diddy” Combs, who also received praise for his rendition of Walter Lee Younger, expressed his personal accomplishment at seeing the 2004 revival play evolve into one of the best TV movies of 2008.

“I really didn’t think it could get any better,” Combs told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “First, an Emmy nomination and now a Golden Globe…this is an incredible honor. A dream come true.”

The 2008 Golden Globes will air January 11, 2009 at 8Pm on NBC.

As we told you a few months ago, Saturday Night Live alum Will Ferrell will make his Broadway debut this January with his new self-penned show called, You're Welcome America. A Final Night with George W. Bush.

Ferrell's show will be autobiographical and include anecdotes about his work on SNL and he'll also do some of his famous impersonations.

And well, it looks like Ferrell is onto something with his new show.

In fact, HBO will air a live telecast in the spring of his Broadway show.

HBO is also now a producing partner of the stage show.

Ferrell's show is expected to last through March 15th. So we suspect that HBO will likely air the show sometime nearing the end.

The Broadway show will begin with previews on January 20th at the Cort Theater on Inauguration Day, and will officially open on February 5th.

Beyonce recently released her third studio album, I Am… Sasha Fierce, and just week later, she announces dates for the European leg of her world tour, beginning Sunday, April 26 in Croatia and running through Sunday May 31 at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast.

The most heavily anticipated concert event of the year, Beyonce’s I Am Tour will mark the artist’s first full-length concerts since 2007’s sold-out The Beyonce Experience and will premiere live performances of songs from I Am… Sasha Fierce, her latest international #1 chart-topping album. The world-renowned top designer, director and photographer Thierry Mugler will work as creative advisor and costume designer on Beyonce’s tour.

After the recent tragedies with her family, Academy Award winning actress and recording artist Jennifer Hudson is finally making her way back to the spotlight.

It has been reported that she will shot a new music video next week for her second single, “If This Isn’t Love,” from her self-titled debut. She was originally slated to shoot the clip for the video before the murders of her mother, brother and nephew.

I had thought that the promotional trail for Jennifer had come to an end, and understandably so, but I’m glad to see that she’s decided to not stop working on the album.

BUSTA RHYMES - ARAB MONEY OUTRAGE!!!!

Only hours after expressing his outrage over Busta Rhymes’ controversial song “Arab Money,” Iraqi-born rapper The Narcicyst told AllHipHop.com that he received a personal phone call from Busta himself last night (December 8), apologizing for the misunderstanding created by the song. According to Narcicyst, the two rappers spent nearly half an hour on the phone discussing Busta’s original intent in making the song, which the veteran rapper says was meant to pay homage to Arab culture.
The Narcicyst, whose family fled Iraq years ago after they were displaced by the political turmoil said he came to understand that there may have been a bigger culprit in Busta’s lyrical misstep.

“It was a thorough explanation and he was a very respectful man,” the Narcicyst told AllHipHop.com. “He explained to me his experience as an African-American man in the States and [it] seemed to me as an experience that I can correlate as an Arab being in the Middle East and having been displaced from my nation and seeing my country being bombarded in the media, being misrepresented.”
According to Narcicyst, Rhymes revealed that he didn't purposely disrespect Arab culture and that representing it "in a positive light" was important to his fellow rapper.

"He also acknowledged that it was definitely something that spun out of control," Narcicyst continued. "You know, when you put out a song, you can’t really put out an essay on why you put out the song. And it’s always hard to explain to the masses.”

While some YouTube posts of the song and/or video have already been removed from the popular website, there is no word on when or if the controversial song will be officially removed from rotation.
The song is already banned in the U.K., where award winning DJ Steve Sutherland was temporarily suspended by Galaxy FM, for playing the song.
As a result of Busta’s apology and The Narcicyst has also agreed to pull his response to the song, a track titled “The Real Arab Money.”

“This is an example of how two people can come together and create something bigger than them,” The Narcicyst concluded. “I’m a strong believer in truth and breaking stereotypes down and not allowing people to box you in. And this whole experience has been a huge eye opener for me. This is what Hip-Hop is about. Two brothers from another mother can come to a peaceful and just conclusion for all sides.”

ANDRES 3000 IS A BITER ?????

A new lawsuit filed in a Boston courtroom claims that the Andre 3000-created Cartoon Network series Class of 3000 was not as original as the rapper, or the network would have viewers believe, the Boston Herald reports.

Former art student Timothy McGee is suing the Outkast star, as well as Cartoon Network and its parent company Turner Broadcasting for $2 million in damages, citing copyright infringement, breach of contract and misappropriation of trade secrets in the creation of the award winning show.

He is requesting compensation in the form of all the profits from the show, as well as court fees and any other payment the courts may see fit.

“We’ve requested $2 million in damages thus far,” said McGee’s attorney Jerrold Neeff. “The rest remains to be seen.”

According to 33-year-old McGee, in 1997 he submitted a show idea to then Cartoon Network vice president of programming Michael Lazzo about a show following the lives of a group of young musicians, “as they try to break into Atlanta’s burgeoning music scene.”

At issue for McGee, the lawsuit says, is the impression that the “characters, artwork, storylines and concepts” he developed for his show were heavily borrowed upon for Dre’s show, which aired from November 2006 to May 2008.

What we have here is the another example of the “the man” trying to take someone else’s idea and make it his own for profit. These fat cats are always trying to pull some ‘ish like this. For black peoples’ sake, we hope Andre didn’t have a hand in this crap.

OJ SIMPSON SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS !!!!!

Simpson and co-defendant Clarence ‘C.J.’ Stewart were sentenced on 12 charges, including felony kidnapping, armed robbery and conspiracy related to a 2007 confrontation with sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel.

The judge said several times that her sentence in the Las Vegas case had nothing to do with Simpson’s 1994 acquittal in the slaying of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. And she rejected his apology stating, “It was much more than stupidity.”

Word got out on Rodeo, when our black female celebrity arrived at another store a month later, the sales clerks tried to discourage her from trying on the clothes, even offering her a discount if she purchased the garments instead of trying them on.



This is the same woman who men whisper about behind her back, they say, "she rides dirty in the sack," meaning: She smells very unclean before and after sexual intercourse but men still sleep with her, although they complain about her later to their boys.

ROMAN POLANSKI IS STILL IN EXILE ???????????????

Back in 1978, famed director Roman Polanski fled Hollywood after pleading guilty to having sex with a 13-year old girl and has been since living in self-imposed exile in France ever since.

Well, on Tuesday, lawyers for Polanski filed a request to dismiss the charge against him because of prosecutorial and judicial misconduct.

The filing claims that a recently released HBO documentary called Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired revealed "a pattern of misconduct and improper communications" between the Los Angeles County district attorney's office and the judge in Polanski's case.

"This case serves as a classic example of how our justice system can be abused, and defendants' rights trampled, by an unholy alliance between courts and criminal prosecutors," said Polanski's lawyers.But, they don't deny that Polanski had sex with the 13-year old!
So, they want to dismiss the case on technicalities.

Had Roman not skipped out to France, the maximum sentence he could have faced was 50 years, but prosecutors had said at the time that the typical sentence was 16 months to three years in prison.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles District Attorney said their office had not been served with the motion and had only heard about it through the media.

"We're looking forward to seeing Mr. Polanski in Los Angeles to litigate it," said the DA rep.
